About Care & Share ProductsCare & Share Products Pty Ltd was originally Christian Press Pty Ltd started by Bill Dalrymple in 1957 to service Christian Bookshops with imported books, cards and Sunday School resources. Of interest, Bill's father opened the first Christian Bookshop in Sydney in 1920. Ron Edwards acquired the business from the Dalrymples in 1983. In 1987, Ron saw the need to broaden the distribution of cards and gifts - products with words of Hope, Inspiration and Encouragement to secular card & gift shops. He also brought his two companies Christian Press and Edwards Health Education Services under a new more appropriate banner - Care & Share Products. Empowering the Poor is a branch of Care & Share Products that seeks to partner with organisations around the world to empower those living in poverty, providing connections and creating relationships. Empowering the Poor began when the owner of Care and Share Products, Ron Edwards, was travelling throughout developing nations. "I met many people doing amazing things in small local communities, but they were stuck - they couldn't expand without a market...they needed someone to be the link to bring their goods to markets worldwide, and also to help them understand the quality and designs that appeal to customers." he said. Our role is multifaceted: Empowering the Poor has grown to provide the link to organisations in countries including the Philippines, Africa, China, India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Thailand and is distributed throughout Australia and New Zealand. Each purchase from the range of hand-made soaps, gifts, accessories, bible covers, stationery, innovative bags, and cards helps struggling men, women and their families to live a life of dignity and security. Creating relationships and connections between the artisans and the person buying the product is very close to the heart of Empowering the Poor. Each product has a ‘Lovingly made by’ tag attached which has been hand signed by the artisan. You can connect with the artisan via the website, sending a message to the artisan or group who has made the item that you purchased. Whilst you are able to purchase items via the web Shopping Cart our aim is to appoint stockists where you can go and see the products. You can click on Stockists to find the nearest Stockist to you.
